Bathroom Demo Day

Not too many words tonight as it's late and I'm really tired, but I wanted to show you pictures of what I eluded to yesterday; what today really entailed. The rest of the bathroom demo - the big stuff - came today.  Whoa....

If you've seen any of our pictures you know the main hall bath looked like this when we bought the house.  Pretty small, shotty, builder basic bath; sink on left, toilet in middle, small shower on right.  We thought there would be way too much competition for space between the sink and the toilet while brushing teeth like it was - and forget flipping any hair to wrap it in a towel after the shower -  you'd knock yourself out on the toilet.  So we thought and thought and thought how to make things work better....

This is the entry to the master bath and "closet".  Really, there is no closet - just a glorified water heater closet, so we kept thinking of how to marry these two baths to make it workable - and still have to commodes.  We only had 169 sq. feet to work with and couldn't disturb walls around the rooms.
 "Light bulb..."

The master "bath".  Woo-hoo!

First, we ripped out this wall...

Removed everything from the main bath...

Ripped out that wall...

Completely....

opening the two of them up together...

feeling as nervous about this as we did at this point?

then we took out the showers...

that was a TRICK!

out it goes...

Wah-lah!  It. is. clean.

No showers.

No toilets...

But was what we had planned on the computer really going to work?  That's Daniel drawing walls and taking measurements to see if it's all going to come together just like we thought.... drum-roll, please...

It all fits... of course we're missing walls and doors and floor and plumbing and electrical (in the right places), but according to all the measurements - our plan is going to work like a dream!  Can't wait to share the rest!

While Daniel and Ali were tackling the bathrooms, I was outside tackling the landscaping.  But that's for another post entirely.  ENTIRELY!

Looking at blogs, for me, is like driving down the street at night and happening by a house that has all its curtains wide open with the lights on... you get a quick glance into someone else's life.

So, friend, please leave a message... I'm leaving the curtains wide open and all the lights are on. I'd love to chat with ya! (and I try to respond to all my comments)
