Evangelize

If sinners will be damned, at least let them leap to hell over our bodies; and if they will perish, let them perish with our arms about their knees, imploring them to stay, and not madly to destroy themselves. If hell must be filled, at least let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go there unwarned and unprayed for.

Zippy's Zip is Back ~ With Her Fancy New Accessories

So Zippy has been to the doctor.  He fixed and bandaged her up really nice ~ very stylishly too [might I add].  And since I had a request to see Zippy in her current bandaged state ~

And she has her old *zip* back ~ as you can see ~ a little cast with puppy paws on it is not keeping her down!  Sandy seems to enjoy the friend to play with.  Especially since Zippy knows that her friend could swallow her in one gulp.

Oh, and take note of the new jewelry Zippy is sporting this lovely evening.  Sydney just insisted she get her a necklace that showed she was a girl dog.  Both girls wanted ME to buy her clothes ~ I had to draw the line somewhere!  I told them if they thought she needed a t-shirt that said "gold digger" they would have to spend their own money!  Funny how Zippy, immediately, didn't *need* that shirt :o)  Besides neither one of them knew what the shirt meant ~ they were just intrigued with all the diamond studs about the shirt.

And even better yet ~ all those nasty little bugs that came in with Zippy?  They're gone too!  Praise God!  Now all she needs is a bath (in a mighty BIG way).  But can't do that for another week or so ~ and yes, as a matter of fact I AM counting the days!

Well, enough about Zippy ~ I'm sure you'll read more about her in time to come, but for now I must head off to bed.  Honey and I are planning to play a new game tonight and I have to go join him.  So for now I bid you all ado.

Peace and Blessings to all of you friends!

An Update of Zippy the Dog

Just wanted to stop in and give you all a short update on the little dog ~ so affectionately called Zippy around here these days...

Zippy is spending the night at the vet's office.  She has a very minor fracture of the tibia and will only need to have the leg splinted for a few weeks.  And the best part - it is only going to cost sixty dollars for everything (rather than $360) ~ Praise God!  What an answer to prayer this vet is!

Honey took her to the big city to see the doctor while the girls and I were at the co-op today.   He said Zippy was a nervous wreck ~~~ like she'd never been in a car before or around such noise; shaking and shivering right out of her skin, those big 'ol ears flat back on her head.

The girls are quite anxious for the pick up tomorrow afternoon (AFTER school ~ bribery is effective [and needed] in some cases).
More to do tonight ~ be blessed and always, ALWAYS be thankful [even for the little things]!

Zippy without the Zip

I've written, in short, of a stray puppy that comes to visit us quite often.  Our family has become rather fond of her, to say the least.  We have affectionately named her "Zippy" because she is all the time zipping to and fro, here and there.  She comes to visit regularly, plays with Sandy, makes Sydney's day, annoys Gabby (the cat), and then leaves ~ goes home.

As it turns out Zippy doesn't really have a "home".  She has an owner, but sleeps and eats wherever she can find the means ~ we always assumed she just came by because she was the neighborhood hospitality counsel.  However, recently Zippy has lost her zip.  Unfortunately, she was hit by a car just yesterday ~ her rear leg is broken and her owner has chosen to take no responsibility for her care.

We had no idea what to do.  Who else did that leave?  Well...

Zippy (and her fleas) are currently residing in our spare room, upon a bed of old pillows and all sorts of doll and barbie accessories ~ to make her as comfortable as she can be, considering the circumstances, of course.

After speaking with several veterinarians in the area ~ finding out how much it would cost to get Zippy fixed, we thought we would be taking her to the pound, to be put to sleep.  But God is good!  In the girls' prayers Zippy has remained ~ asking for a way that we could "get her fixed".

Via some fancy web-surfing last night, we found a wonderful organization that takes care of these types of situations.  People who can't afford to get their pets fixed, people who find strays that are hurt, and so forth...

Needless to say ~

Zippy has an appointment Monday morning to get her leg fixed.  And that makes for two very happy little girls (and their mommy and daddy too).
From this point on ~ Zippy will be the newest edition to our family.

PS ~ oddly enough, the girls have been [secretly] asking God for another dog in their prayers, while Honey has been praying for the growth/expansion of our family... he says this is not quite what he had in mind!  I think we need to make sure to be more specific in our prayers from now on :o)

A Good Reflection

22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was.  James 1:22-24

Ali caught this reflection the other day while they were out exploring.  Such an interest in photography and a good eye for composition.  With her permission, I thought I would share it.

Transforming Quote

Religion today is not transforming people; rather it is being transformed by the people. It is not raising the moral level of society; it is descending to society's own level, and congratulating itself that it has scored a victory because society is smilingly accepting its surrender.
